An isometric transformation, or isometry, preserves a figure's shape and size. In other words, the preimage and image are identical (but could be rotated, shifted, or flipped).
Examples of isometric transformations are reflections, rotations, and translations.

The fourth picture would be an example of an isometry because you can rotate one of them to be directly on top of the other, meaning they will be identical.
