Why did the colonists object to the Tea Act?

Many colonists opposed the Act, not so much because it rescued the East India Company, but more because it seemed to validate the Townshend Tax on tea.

Because it put unfair taxes on tea, making it extremely expensive ( which was a disaster because everyone drank tea like water back then) and it made it so Americans could only by tea from England, meaning big profit for England and an angry mob of Americans hurling tea off the sides of boats dressed as native Americans
