Answer:

the dirt would not help the plant, the roots would grow upwards towards a different gravity source, but this question is physically impossible because it could only happen if the earth were not their, if you were out in an “empty void“ of particles smaller than you, the particles would begin to circle you because you are teh nearest source of gravity, (ignore the ship, since its bigger than you.)
