Answer:

-5(3x + 6) = -3(4x - 2)

Distribute -5 through the parenthesis

-15x - 30 = -3(4x - 2)

distribute -3 through the other parenthesis

-15x - 30 = -3( -12x + 6 )

move the variable the left hand side, change sign

-15x + 12 - 30 = 6

move constant to the right hand side

-15x + 12 = 6 + 30

collect like terms

-3x = 6 + 30

add the numbers

-3x = 36

divide both sides by -3

-3/-3 = 36/-3

x = -12

-30-6=-12x+15x

3x=-36
