Mega-something = 10⁶×something. Symbol: M

1MW=10⁶W, or 1W=10^(-6) MW

1 horsepower (HP) is *defined* as the necessary power to lift a mass of 75kg, at the height of 1m, in 1 second.

Mass: m=75kg

Weight: G=mg=75×9.81=736N

Energy: G×h=736N×1m=736J

Power: energy / 1second = 736W
